Executive Education

The Inspired Leader in the Age of AI is a justice-focused program designed for higher-education leaders who are navigating career transitions or preparing for new leadership roles. This program responds to the rapidly evolving professional world of higher education by cultivating durable skills such as emotional intelligence, adaptability, communication, and confidence.
Participants engage in dynamic workshops led by trailblazing leaders, explore meta-learning strategies, receive group coaching, and work on high-impact projects. The cohort-based program meets biweekly for six months. Individuals from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Participants in Next Level Success program learn time-tested techniques and practical ideas they can apply immediately to their careers to combat performance-limiting biases and better capitalize on their strengths.

Northeastern students

Designed to support first-generation students in their transition to Northeastern, the Trailblazers Program provides connections to a pre-college cohort as well as mentoring, advising, and support throughout the academic year.

Russell Women in Science Leadership is a Mills College legacy program designed to create pathways for women and gender non-binary individuals to succeed in STEM leadership. The program continues to build on this legacy by providing a new generation of students with faculty-mentored high-impact research experiences and showcasing accomplished women scientists who have achieved firsts in their fields.
The Hellman Experiential Science Program connects first-generation Northeastern students with the mentorship, community, and resources they need to thrive in STEM. Through graduate student mentorship and monthly workshops, the Hellman Program helps students navigate STEM education and consider pathways for STEM careers.


The Women’s Interdisciplinary Society of Entrepreneurship (WISE), supported in Oakland by The Mills Insitute, is a student-led group at Northeastern University dedicated to helping women and underrepresented genders develop an innovative mindset through interactive workshops, a thought-incubator, mentorship pairings and a venture catalyst.
Inspired by author, Alice Walker, The Womanist is a women and femmes of color literary art journal begun by students in Ethnic Studies at Mills College. The journal, now supported by The Mills Institute, celebrates the literature and artwork of women and femmes of color at Northeastern. All students are welcome to participate.

PRE-COLLEGE STUDENTS

Upward Bound provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families and high school students from families in which parents do not hold a bachelor’s degree.
The Talent Search program identifies and assists youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides free personalized academic advising, informative workshops on college admissions and financial aid, and guidance with the college application process.
