Biography
Hi! I am an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Northeastern University Khoury College of Computer Sciences in Oakland! My research is focused on cybersecurity, ethics, social bias in machine learning, and teaching ethical computing. I strongly believe that the most efficient path to ethical tech is to have computer/data scientists who reflect the population that their products are designed to affect. Biography
Holly Jimison, PhD is a Research Professor in Computer Science in Northeastern University’s Silicon Valley Campus. Her research is based on technology for home health interventions, with a focus on the in-home needs of older adults and caregivers. She uses novel techniques for computational modeling from streaming sensor data and decision-theoretic models to enhance the care of older adults.

Due to my positive experiences in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students at my prior academic and clinical settings (e.g., Brown Medical School, Atascadero State Hospital, St. Jude Medical Center), I am delighted to serve in this capacity again. My academic interests are in neurocognitive disorders, clinical diagnosis, dementias, CVA, and TBI.

Dr. Terri Scott is a cognitive neuroscientist and Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology at Northeastern University – Oakland. She studies the neural foundations of language and higher-level cognitive abilities using diverse experimental techniques, including neuroimaging and intracranial recordings. Dr. Scott received her PhD in Neuroscience from Boston University and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of California – San Francisco.

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Lasalle Lab at UC Davis School of Medicine, specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders such as Rett syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. My research focuses on using cutting-edge Neurogenomics technologies such as single cell RNA-seq and computational tools to analyze brain big data and potentially develop innovative therapies. Staddon’s work focuses on AI safety, answering questions like how users can safely make decisions about security and privacy with assistance from large language models. She spent almost 25 years in industry, leading research in safety, security, and privacy for Xerox PARC, Google, YouTube, and most recently, JPMorgan Chase. Staddon has published papers on topics ranging from intimate partner financial abuse to multi-recipient encryption to social network privacy. She served as department editor for IEEE Security & Privacy Magazine for seven years and regularly serves on the program committees of leading privacy and security conferences such as The Web Conference and the Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security.
